I've recently joined a good number of male-oriented photography clubs, in an attempt to promote my photography and get my work some notice. This has been good and bad, to some degree.
A rather disturbing trend has been to drop your pants and snap your IPhone, slap it up on a photography site and call it "Art". Just because you're naked and you've arranged some nice pillows in the background to recline upon doesn't mean you're creating "art". Yes, art is subjective and yes, different people have different ideas of what that means but just showing your d*ck or *ss doesn't mean you're making art. It means your voyeuristic side is showing and you need to double-think what you're doing. A lot of times these photos are grainy, badly lit and against a background cluttered with computer cords, half-open windows with cats peeking in and a 70's throw rug on the floor. Not cute.
I'm not opposed to frontal nudity - I rather like it - but to qualify as art, there has to be a certain quality about the work that suggests thought, effort, and intent. Simply dropping your pants and snapping a shot doesn't really do that, for me. If you're going to show your "stuff" (I refuse to call any man's Sin Rod "junk"), at least do it in a way that is flattering and provoking some emotion. I'm just saying...put some thought into it. Adjust your lighting. Clean up your floor. Drop a cloth in the background...something that lets us know you're doing something truly artistic and not auditioning for Sean Cody or C*ckSure Men!
I keep hoping that many of them are just developing their definitions of "art." Sadly, I think many of these people are just exhibitionists who've discovered a market.
We can hope. I've watched this site slide over the years, though. It seems that every time one group get tired and move on, a new one takes its place. We'll see how it goes this time.
I have to agree. I may be a little guilty of favoriting a few, vaginas as well, [link]. Unfotunately I've noticed a large number of exhibitionists here, rather than amateur or hobby photographers. Unless they do post something againts DA's rules is likely they'll stay.

I just don't understand the need to post all the penis shots. I just don't understand.
